It’s been a great year for local music and Cloud Nothings and Jessica Lea Mayfield, two artists who’ve put out albums that have received national attention, will perform at the inaugural NEOCycle Music Fest, a free festival that takes place at the Hub at Edgewater Park on Saturday, Sept. 27. The fest’s promoters, Cleveland Music City and the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, have lined up 11 other acts to play the two-stage festival, which they’ve billed as the Midwest’s first and only urban cycling festival.
The NEOCycle Music Fest will coincide with the Hub at Edgewater Park, a bicycle and outdoor lifestyle festival that will feature everything from BMX shows to a bike polo demonstration area. “We are excited to have these outstanding acts perform at the inaugural NEOCycle Music Fest at The Hub at Edgewater Park,” says David Gilbert, President and CEO of the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, in a press release. “The Music Fest is just one aspect of an entire weekend of unique NEOCycle events and activities that will showcase one of Cleveland’s greatest assets in Edgewater Park to both visitors and locals and continue to propel the cycling movement forward in Greater Cleveland. The event will also pump significant spending into the local economy as cyclists, music lovers and their friends and families travel to Cleveland for NEOCycle’s blend of cycling races and rides, live music and outdoor activities.” Other confirmed acts include Ohio Sky, Captain Kidd, Cities & Coasts, Ottawa, Muamin Collective & Neil Chastain Trio, Silent Lions, Village Bicycle, JP & the Chatfield Boys and the Luckey Ones.
