O'Death

O’Death Appalachian punk Tapes ’n Tapes

The five guys in O'Death may play banjo-fueled Appalachian mountain music, but their main inspiration comes from a completely different source: punk rock. We bet you've never seen bearded men jumping around onstage with such ferocity before. The band combines folk, goth, and Americana, coming on like a dirtier, sloppier version of Loon-era Tapes 'n Tapes. The mad fiddle-playing is as spicy as the town tramp that Greg Jamie sings about. Or at least that's what we think he's singing about — it's almost impossible to actually decipher the words that hurl out of his mouth. All this hollering and onstage chaos make O'Death seem like crazy-eyed, looting villagers, wielding torches in one hand and pints of whiskey in the other. Just be sure to hold on to your drink real tight when the band comes to town this week.
