Forty-plus years after the release of her debut album,
Horses, singer Patti Smith has announced she’ll honor the album’s “longevity and lasting influence” with a series of special shows centered around the album.
Smith and her band will perform the album in its entirety at 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, at
Playhouse Square’s State Theatre.
“It will be a true, proud celebration,” says Smith, a Rock Hall Inductee, in a press release.
Two members of the original group, Lenny Kaye and Jay Dee Daugherty, will accompany her along with bassist/keyboardist Tony Shanahan, who's been part of her band for 20 years.
Tickets go on sale at 11 a.m. on Friday at
playhousesquare.org, 216-241-6000 and the venue’s ticket office. Prices will be $59.50, $49.50, $39.50 and $29.50.
