If the expertly sliced 'n' diced soul sample in Play Havoc's "Spell on You" didn't already make the point, rhymer Ill Advice drives it home: "We ain't gonna fuck around with you." The Lorain group represents Cleveland as well as anyone from the 2-1-6. Its debut sounds a lot like the best parts of radio rap, club music, and a mixtape -- but better. The core trio skips playerisms and bling bullshit while miraculously sounding fresh in its praise of champagne, weed, and ridin'. All Things Due gets our vote for Northeast Ohio's independent hip-hop album of the year. Don't leave '06 without it.
