Prong has been a purveyor of aggressively brutal industrial since its formation in New York in 1986. Currently made up of guitarist and former CBGB soundman Tommy Victor, drummer Aaron Rossi, and bassist Monte Pittman (who doubles as Madonna's touring guitarist), the trio has refused to kowtow to the mainstream. Prong, however, did churn out a couple of Headbanger's Ball staples in the mid-'90s: "Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck" and "Broken Peace."
Power of the Damager, Prong's brand-new disc and 13th overall, is a savage return to the hardcore thrashing of its formative years — no programming, sampling, or vocal effects.
In the live setting, Prong doesn't bond with its fans via onstage banter. Its communication is of a more feral variety — namely, barrages of ear-shattering riffs while Victor spews raw bile. It's worth mentioning that Prong is known for calling out audiences when they don't measure up. So don't say you weren't warned.
