Prosperity Social Club has just announced that it’ll launch the inaugural Whiskey & Women summer music series this summer. The second Friday of every month, Prosperity will serve up bourbon- and whiskey-based cocktail and dinner specials that go with the local female artists who'll perform.

“These soulful sirens are my honkytonk heroines,” says Prosperity Social Club owner Bonnie Flinner in a press release announcing the event. “They are all super talented and, just like whiskey, their twang-tinged tunes not only hit the right notes but pack a punch.”

The “drink menu includes a Dark Rye Manhattan, Kentucky Mule, Bourbon Ricky, Blackberry Mint Lemonade. Specials include blackened bourbon chicken with whiskey cream corn and rustic mashed potatoes, bourbon glazed salmon with maple brown butter sweet corn and lemon dill potatoes, and peppered sirloin with whiskey and mushroom pasta.

“Each show we’ll switch up our featured entrée specials, but we’re committed to one culinary constant — a maple bourbon banana pudding cake dessert,” says Flinner. “It’s just the right amount of decadence to cap off any night.”

Local “mountain pop” singer-songwriter Jen Maurer performs at 8 p.m. on June 8, country/roots/blues singer-songwriter Rachel Brown plays at 8 p.m. on July 13 and singer-guitarist Rebekah Jean [pictured] performs at 8 p.m. on Aug. 10.

Admission is free.
