Earlier this year, in marking the 50th anniversary of Carl Stokes' election as mayor of Cleveland, the Cleveland Museum of Art commissioned the Distinguished Gentlemen of Spoken Word to create and perform an original piece based on the writings and words of Stokes and his brother, U.S. Rep. Louis Stokes Jr.
Today at 5 p.m., the group of African-American males, ages 8 to 18, performs a CD release concert on the Rock Hall's plaza. Admission is free.
