Local deathcore/extreme-metal quintet Salt the Wound’s new CD Ares (on California-based Rotten Records) comes out September 15.
But the band is sharing it with fans a little early. They’re celebrating the release with a show at the Grog Shop tomorrow night, and every paid admission also snags a free copy of the CD.
The quintet formed eight years ago but released their first full-length record Carnal Repercus (following several EPs), also on Rotten, only last year.
The new record was produced by Cole Martinez at his Lakewood studio Conquistador.
After spending Labor Day weekend gigging in Michigan and Dayton, the hard-touring band will hit the road again for a tour that takes them across the country — from Massachussetts to Nevada to Idaho and South Dakota — sharing bills with Knights of the Abyss, Graves of Valor, Within the Ruins, Cryptopsy and Rose Funeral.
Cholera, the Analyst and the Screwtape Letters open tomorrow's show at 7 p.m. Admission is $10. —Anastasia Pantsios
