Sandy Kane -- yeah, that's the woman who flashed Carrot Top -- leads our picks of the weekend

Every Friday, Scene calendar editor Cris Glaser provides a random but reliable sampling of things to do this weekend. For more options, log onto And check back Monday for C-Notes' Picks of the Week. Friday: You’ve heard her impersonate Dolly Parton on her cable-access show. You’ve watched her flash her genital warts in front of Carrot Top on YouTube. Now you can see ex-stripper-turned-“New York’s breast comedienne” Sandy Kane in all her geriatric glory tonight at Now That’s Class as the club celebrates its first anniversary. The free show is at 8 p.m. at 11213 Detroit Avenue or call 216-221-8576. Saturday: Columbus’ Black Canary flies up I-71 to Lakewood to peddle its dark and moody 45, “Vampire,” off its debut CD, Trail of Hearts. Guitarist David James says the band insisted on issuing a vinyl record to mirror its “retro-futuristic” style. The quartet goes on stage at 10 tonight at Bela Dubby, 13321 Madison Avenue in Lakewood. The concert is free. Call 216-221-4479. Sunday: Former Tonic frontman Emerson Hart plays the House of Blues as part of his Cigarettes and Gasoline tour. The 12-track CD is a tribute to his dad, whose murder in New Jersey in the early ’70s still remains cold. Hart will also perform his latest single, “I Wish the Best for You,” which is creeping up the Billboard pop charts. Tickets cost $12 and $15 in the club’s Cambridge Room, 308 Euclid Avenue. Call 216-523-2583.
