A graduate of Shaker Heights High School’s band programs, drummer Drew Schultz, who'll release a new album that pays tribute to Eddie Willis of the Funk Brothers, has performed/written with/toured with/recorded with an array of artists including the Four Tops, Temptations, Aretha Franklin, Martha Reeves & the Vandellas, Funk Brothers, and many others.
A drum teacher at the Detroit Institute of Music Education, he performs in Northeast Ohio on occasion.
He’ll perform on Thursday, Sept. 21, at Nighttown with his Detroit-based soul band the Broken Habits.
Schultz and the Broken Habits will also perform at a celebration of Shaker Heights High School’s 100-year anniversary. That event takes place at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 22. It's part of Raider Nation Night Out at the Dealership (3558 Lee Rd.) There will be food, beer and wine for purchase, with proceeds benefiting the Shaker Schools Foundation.
