It's a pretty funny concept: Take 2 Live Crew's rap-raunch rhymes and primitive beats, build some new songs around them, and slap them onto a five-track EP. Rapper Spank Rock (who made a splash with last year's YoYoYoYoYo) and DJ Benny Blanco effortlessly recreate a 1989 club vibe. Over stuttering synths, wailing sirens, and old-school samples, Spank rhymes about sex and, well, more sex on songs like "B-O-O-T-A-Y," "Pu$$y," and "Bitch!" Bangers & Cash begins to wear out its welcome just as this 17-minute mini-album runs out of dick jokes.
