A couple months back, we told you the story of
Ta Smallz, the Canton-bred dancer, model, rapper, and CEO who was tutored in the music biz by none other than the late
Gerald Levert.
Living large in Los Angeles,
Smallz is gearing up for his next release -- which, according to Ronee Shipley of Smallz’ label, Life Entertainment, is a “CD titled
Having My Way Vol. 2.4 with a bonus DVD titled
Who Killed My Momma?”
In 1984, Smallz’ mother, R&B singer Marsha Carter, was murdered while living in Oakland, California, where she was earning a living as a session musician. Since her assailant was never found, Smallz has now put together a DVD full of “life history and interviews” in an attempt to get the case reopened. “We are working with the police and reinvestigating the whole thing with new technology,” he says.
What’s more, Smallz also wants to turn his search for his mother’s murderer into a “reality show.”
We’ll keep you posted on his progress.
