Here’s your chance to support the local arts scene and the local music scene at the same time. Tonight, Heights Arts is sponsoring an evening of music by area underground acts at the Grog Shop to benefit its programs — which include public art, an art gallery, poetry readings, and chamber-music concerts. It starts with a reception downstairs in the B-Side Liquor Lounge from 6-8 p.m. Upstairs, Worker’s Union goes on at 7, followed by Trepanning Trio, an instrumental group that uses a variety of handmade and traditional ethnic instruments, at 8. Lo-fi duo Stoned by Magic plays at 9, with Uno Lady’s one-woman voice-manipulation magic at 10. Eclectic garage rockers Chief Bromide (11 p.m.) and guitarist Dave Cintron’s open-ended experimental project Terminal Lovers (midnight) close the show. Tickets are $10 at the door. — Anastasia Pantsios
