The Bad Boys of Blues Will Bring Wednesday Jam Night to Smedley's

After a brief summertime stint at Happy Dog, the Bad Boys of Blues will take their venerable Wednesday jam night to Smedley's in West Park next month. The music starts on Nov. 1.

If you've never been, you should amend that immediately. The Bad Boys of Blues play a set for the first hour, and they feature a special host each week as singer/guitarist/harmonica player/etc. After that set, the jam opens up to a series of ad-hoc bands who keep the music going into the wee hours.

Musicians are welcome to bring their instruments. Non-musicians are encouraged to come out and listen to the show.

If you want to play, you've got to see Michael Bay. If you don't, you've got to stick around all night. Those are the rules.

The move to Smedley's seems more in sync with the atmosphere of jam night, which was held on Wednesdays at Parkview Nite Club for 23 years before ending in March 2017.

The Bad Boys host Thursday jam nights at Brothers Lounge. In a 2013 feature about Bay, we wrote about some of the history behind the Bad Boys' jam night.
