The Library Is on Fire video premiere/pizza party

The Library Is on Fire
Sure, The Library Is on Fire plays some of the most poignant indie rock in Akron's rich scene. But this week, they have not one, but two things to offer that are just as good or better: 1) free pizza and 2) a new video for the blissfully discordant "New Corner." The band has recreated Devo's "Jocko Homo" clip, shooting at the same location as the original -- Kent State University's Governance Chambers. Featuring former members of Party of Helicopters, the Lindsay, and others, the rookie band has just finished its full-length debut with Todd Tobias (ex-Guided by Voices). And their shows have been well-received: "Some guy at our first show at the Beachland likened us to 'Plastic Ono Band and Nirvana' or something," reports guitarist-singer Steve Five -- who, incidentally, will be moving to New York City to study creative writing. And he'll be taking the band with him, so see them while you can
