Violent Suburban Marriage punk

Back in the golden days of '80s hardcore, Violent Suburban Marriage — also known as VSM — was one of the city's top T.I.S. bands (that stands for Triple Initial Syndrome). "We quickly rose to the punk elite of Cleveland," says bassist Joey Slash. "We were known for having fans throw their empty beer cans at us onstage. The clubs liked it, because they sold much more beer, but the cleaning crew didn't care for it." Members of the group went on to study at Boston's Berklee school and form Fester on Acid. But nothing killed the itch, and a mostly-the-same lineup is tearing through old favorites such as "Moral Idiots" and "I Want to Be a Fag," with some other freshly minted future classics in the mix. The band is also accepting donations to fund a new record; you can help by drinking cheap beer and forking over the difference.
