Nike "Wolverine" Air Force Ones Nod to LeBron

If you didn't catch this story in the PD the other day, local kicks savant Van Monroe has designed an extremely limited edition set of Nike Air Force ones for the new Wolverine movie. You'll notice in the picture that he's included "Witness" on the right one and has Wolverine mimicking LeBron's pre-game chalk routine on the box.

Monroe, a lifelong comic book fan, said he contacted the film company in the winter and offered his services to help out with the project.

"I've been a fan of Wolverine since I was a kid, and I have always wanted to do a shoe about him," Monroe said. "I'm just a kid from Cleveland. I'm surprised they even listened to me."

Representatives from the movie studio in Los Angeles said Monroe's creation has helped hype the movie, which some critics anticipate will be one of the spring's biggest blockbusters.

"Van is one of the most talented guys working in the world of custom shoes," said Jonathan Helfgot, senior vice president of marketing at 20th Century Fox.

Imagine what he'll come up with for members of the Cavs if they win the championship this year. The kicks also were featured on Inside the NBA, and you can check out the full photo collection here.
