The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is currently working on the whereabouts of Cleveland police officer Tommie Griffin, a criminal defendant in a multiple-count domestic violence case out of Parma. He broke his ankle monitor this weekend, and is now on the run.
Griffin was arrested earlier this year for the felonious assault, kidnapping and rape of a woman in Parma (reportedly his girlfriend at the time). He was suspended without pay as the criminal case proceeded against him.
Following the arrest, law enforcement seized more than 60 guns from the home he shared with the victim. The haul included five assault rifles and an
Israeli Uzi submachine gun.
News of Griffin's escape
broke last night. He is considered "armed and dangerous." We'll keep tabs on this story as any news develops.
His trial is set for Oct. 30.
