This is not the Rottweiler left behind.
Kenneth Weaver III is charged with abandonment and cruelty to animals after leaving his pet Rottweiler to die in an Akron apartment with no food, heat or water.

Akron police reported they were called to the man's former residence this weekend when the landlord accused his former tenant of stealing some appliances. What they found instead was more horrific.

The Rottweiler's body was discovered on the living room floor, police reported. The animal appeared to have died from starvation.

The dog's owner is currently at Summit County Jail.
