Just shy of its fourth birthday, Amp 150 (4277 W. 150th St., 216-706-8787, amp150.com) will host a very special dinner that should have some followers of the local food scene very happy.
On Friday, August 23, the kitchens at the modern American restaurant will be a little crowded with talent. That's because in addition to current chef Jeffrey Jarrett, chefs Dean James Max and Ellis Cooley will be on hand to prepare a six-course dinner.
"It's going to be a reunion dinner of sorts featuring the two chefs who founded the restaurant and where we are now," explains Jarrett.
Max, an award-winning chef and author, is a partner in seven restaurants at Marriott properties around the country. Cooley, who along with Max opened Amp 150, currently is working at 3rd and 3rd in Delray Beach, Florida.
Jarrett envisions a format by which chefs would alternate courses, each handling two. While the theme and menu still are in development, it's likely that local, farm-to-table elements will be at the fore.
"That is prime harvest season for Ohio products — everything will really be coming up," notes Jarrett, adding that Amp 150's own garden is flourishing.
Seating will be limited to around 55 guests. For more info or to make reservations call the restaurant. Prices also haven't been announced.
