An 'unethical and ludicrous' lawsuit

I am writing this letter in response to the ridiculous accusations about the female impersonator Hershae Chocolatae ["Bitter Chocolate," September 13]. I have worked in the female impersonation business for 17 years and have never heard of anything like this. Hershae has never made any kind of similarity to the Hershey Company. That a big company is going after a little person for her drag name is unethical and ludicrous. They're going to lose money by all those boycotting this company for this asinine lawsuit. I hope they realize how much they are going to lose and deserve to. I strongly urge everyone to join in on the boycotting of this monstrous candy company and any and all of their products. Any questions? Feel free to contact me via my e-mail [email protected] Erik Johnson (A.K.A. Prissy Divine) Dearborn Heights, Mich. I am appalled by these accusations. Hershae has never claimed to be associated with Hershey's Chocolate Company. She always says in every show that she is the "often-imitated-but-never-duplicated Hershae Chocolatae." I am sticking with Hershae and boycotting all Hershey products. Chad Stoffan Dearborn Heights, Mich. Hershae may not have been around as long as the candy company has, but she's gone through a lot to get her name out there. I don't see any connection between the two, other than they are "both dark and a little nutty." But I have never heard Hershae mention anything about being an heir to the Hershey fortune. The Hershey company was started by a white guy, anyway -- am I right? They make enough money, so why should they care if Hershae is out there? She's a very good performer and Hershey needs to just let the suit go. Michael Anthony Chesterland
