Captain America Traffic Updates

It's pretty awesome that the Marvel franchise is returning to Cleveland. But take heed, noble citizens: Production of the next installment in the Captain America series (the aptly chilly "Winter Solider) will likely complicate your daily commute or errand-running, especially if you live and/or work downtown.

Resurfacing construction crews have suddenly established themselves on several downtown thoroughfares, so expect increased delays and that fun situation where you watch a light change from green to red to green to red to green again while going precisely nowhere. Isn't that just, like, the coolest?

Notably, Cleveland’s West Shoreway will be closed (east and west bound) from Lake Avenue to E. 9th Street from May 30th through June 14th. Via the Greater Cleveland Film Commission:

Edgewater Park and the marinas north of the Shoreway will be accessed via West 49th St. Vehicles exiting Edgewater Park and the marinas will be directed out through the closed Westbound lanes of the Shoreway back to West 49th Street.

Additional police and traffic personnel have been hired by the production company, but between May 19th and June 14th (and then possibly between June 14th and June 28th), traffic's gonna be a bitch.
