One of Cedar Point’s classic coasters may be receiving an upgrade it well deserves. While the park has had no problems testing the limits with their record-breaking rides in the past, it has yet to enter the world of virtual reality. That may change soon.
The Iron Dragon, while not necessarily a thrill-seeker’s favorite, will be venturing into the virtual reality world starting Friday when guests who sign up to participate will take a ride through an animated world via headset.
To take part in the beta testing, riders must be at least 13 years old and make reservations to have a spot on the ride. Reservations begin at noon and the actual rides will take off at 6 p.m. and end at 9.
“While the ride is in motion, the animation closely matches the movements of each car for a riding experience like no other,” park spokesman Tony Clark told ohio.com.
Iron Dragon, may you return to greatness soon.
