In 2017, Scene reporter and managing editor Eric Sandy published a mammoth feature story on the criminal saga of Kevin Keith, a man who was accused of and sentenced to death for a triple murder in Bucyrus, Ohio, in 1994.

Sandy's story chronicled the prosecutorial malfeasance that led to Keith's conviction and the heroic efforts of Keith's brother Charles in bringing the case to light. The facts of the case are astonishing: No physical evidence linked Keith to the crime scene and he has unwaveringly maintained his innocence throughout his incarceration.

The documentary "Proving Innocence," currently in production, will tell the story of Kevin Keith and his brother Charles. The trailer for the film (above) is now available for viewing at justiceforkevinkeith.org.
