- Chip and Cudi team up to headline Cleveland's birthday celebration
Good afternoon Cleveland. It's almost your birthday! For 214 years you have stood strong, but don't worry, you don't look a day over 172! To celebrate, Ohio Homecoming has gathered some of the best musical acts in the state and will be bringing them to Public Square. On July 22, best buds Kid Cudi and Chip Tha Ripper, who when teamed together become Almighty GloryUS, will be headlining Cleveland's 214st Birthday Variety show, rocking a stage that will be built in Public Square. The streets will be closed off, the music will be bumping, and there will be food and refreshments upon entry. So bring a lawn chair (no, seriously, bring a lawn chair. It's encouraged), kick your feet up and enjoy some of Cleveland's best young artists as we celebrate our city's birthday in the heart of downtown Cleveland.
There are exactly four ways to get tickets to this event:
-Call 96.5 Kiss FM, yell "OMG I LOVE KID CUDI CAN I LIKE, HAVE SOME TICKETS?" and hope that you are the right caller.
-Buy a ticket to either the STOMP For Ohio College and Alumni Step Show, which takes place on July 23, or buy a ticket to Lee Evans Flag Football Game/Ohio High School Battle of the Bands on July 24. Either ticket will also grant you access to the show.
-Purchase a pretty cool "I Am Ohio" t-shirt from Cleveland's own Fresh Brewed Tees, rock it to the concert, and get in for free.
-Or finally, head over to Tower City and buy a ticket directly from the Ohio Homecoming cart that is located next to the fountain by the food court.
Whatever your purchasing method may be, you really have no excuse to miss Cudi and Chip, two rising Cleveland hip-hop artists that truly support this city in their music. Plus, how do you think Cleveland will feel if you miss its birthday party?
