Cleveland police officer Thomas Tewell was hired by the department in 2012 and graduated from the police academy in March 2013. Just one year later, in May 2014, he was suspended without pay for 25 days for sending a lewd photo to a woman he had issued a traffic ticket to, as well as tracking her down on social media to ask her out. He entered a "last chance agreement" after the ruling, which lasted for two years.

Tewell is again facing trouble for sexting, according to Cleveland.com, which reports, citing multiple sources and confirmation from the police union, that Tewell is under investigation in Rocky River for allegedly sending lewd messages to a 17-year-old girl.

The incident was reported to Rocky River police on Feb. 9, according to the report. Police spokesperson Jennifer Ciaccia told the outlet Tewell is on desk duty for now pending any criminal charges or internal disciplinary action. Cleveland police union president Jeff Follmer declined to comment. Rocky River police Lieutenant Bill Crates told Cleveland.com they're currently waiting for a full forensic examination of a cell phone.
