The Peer Show is the Cleveland Print Room’s first juried exhibition. Selected by Barbara Tennenbaum, Cleveland Museum of Art’s Curator of Photography, the show includes more than 30 accepted works from nearly 250 submitted pieces.
“This is our first unique opportunity for photographic artists to exhibit their work and receive substantial exposure in Cleveland's only dedicated photographic art gallery, community darkroom, educational center, and studio workspace,” says CPR director Shari Wilkins.
Selected artists include Edie Antl, Rachel Beamer, Rosalee Bernabe, Preston Buchtel, Brian Cade, Darrelle Centuori, Ryn Clarke, Antonia Cruz, G. M. Donley, Nicole Follen, Carrie Gabella, Kory Grasser, Bob Herbst, Diana Hlywiak, Lori Kella, Ryan Kral, Joan Lederer, Michael Loderstedt, Maria Manco, Greg Martin, Amelia Maslen, Stephanie Mercer, Joan Neubecker, Susan Onysko , Lee Peters, Deborah Pinter, Andrew Raz, Ricky Rhodes, Eric Rippert, Karen St. John-Vincent, John Tellaisha and Mark Thomas.
The Cleveland Print Room invites the public to a free reception from 5 to 9 p.m. this Friday, June 12. Awards will be presented at 6:30 p.m.; including $300 for Best of Show, $150 Best Black and White, $150 Best Color, $150 Best Alternative Process and $100 Director’s Award. The Peer Show runs through July 11.
