Cleveland Public Library Unveils New Card Designed by Local Artist

Our good old public library released a new card for members as part of its Landmark series. This time around, the card, available for free, was designed by local yet world-renowned artist Amy Casey.

The new design marks the third in the series. (The first, pulled from Harvey Pekar's Cleveland, was unveiled in 2012.) According to Cleveland.com, the series is meant to shine a light on city landmarks and spread awareness about local artists.

A Cleveland native, Casey specializes in painting buildings and walkways very similar to her work displayed on the new card. Her paintings have been shone across the country, including New York, Chicago and San Francisco. She told Cleveland.com she designed her work for the Cleveland Public Library, entitled "Dissemination," based on the idea of inter-connectivity and the public library's ability to share information. 

The new card is available at every Cleveland Public library location and is free for members. To be a member, locals just have to be a resident of Ohio or a student at an Ohio college or University.
