Cleveland Woman Helps Restore Faith in Humanity with This Simple Gesture

A Cleveland woman visiting Austin, Texas last weekend proves , yes , there are still good people out there despite the onslaught of disturbing headlines this month both locally and nationally

A simple act of kindness has earned Clevelander Karen Mehollin accolades from the reddit community (and certainly from this humble magazine staff) after she scooped up a lost debit card from the sidewalk at the Austin City Limits music festival last weekend and shipped it off to its rightful owner with this note:

Hi! You have no idea who I am, but I found your Visa card on the ground next to the pizza truck late Saturday night (at 6th/Guadalupe). We were in town for ACL and staying at the hotel across the street. I tried to get ahold of you through a quick Facebook search and only saw a place of employment (and am hoping this is the only location in the area :)). Even if you've already cancelled the card, it's yours to have.

Take care, Karen Mehollin

A friend of the owner of the card posted the note to reddit last night confirming that the card had reached its intended recipient.

My friend from Austin went to Austin City Limits (music festival) this weekend and lost her debit card. A few days later she got it in the mail with this letter. We couldn't find find anyone with the various spellings of the signed name on Facebook, so if anyone knows of a Karen McLellin/Mehollin (our best guesses), please let her know she is awesome!

Awesome, indeed.
