Columbus Road Bridge Closed Again

You can look, you just cant get there.

It was just about a week ago when mechanical failures led to the temporary closure of the Columbus Road bridge, a vital getaway vein for downtown workers escaping at rush hour and hoping to avoid the cluster that is the Inner Belt bridge.

Originally, it was supposed to take one or two days to fix. That ended up being three or four, but eventually the parts were put in place to get one of what seems like two working bridges in the Flats back up to speed.

Yesterday afternoon, unfortunately, commuters looking to get the hell out of Dodge found the bridge closed again, this time with no warning. Mechanical failures, it turns out, were again at fault; the city didn't merely close the bridge to piss you off. They're promising the bridge will be open no later than Monday says Cleveland Free Press, but we'll see about that. In the meantime, swimming across the river might be the most time-efficient decision. Mainly we're just upset it takes longer to get to Hoopples now.
