Justin Timberlake may try to convince us that being classy and wearing a suit and tie is the way to go, but if last night’s Juicy J show is any indication, there are still plenty of fans that want to get wild and ratchet. If you weren’t at the House of Blues last night, you missed one hell of a party. Despite the announcement at the beginning of the performance discouraging people from moshing and crowd surfing, fans were riled up and ready to party as smoke billowed from the pit. The show was probably a blast if you were like most people and went out of your mind on copious amounts of alcohol and weed, but for a sober attendee, it proved to be too obnoxious and without substance.
Juicy J certainly had energy to spare on stage. The performer hit on everything from new singles such as “Show Out” and “Geeked Up Off Them Bars” to his older work with Three 6 Mafia. Mid-way through the concert, the performance really slowed to a halt and we wished he would just get to the hit “Bandz A Make Her Dance” (there’s a sentence we never thought we’d say). But low and behold, the party was saved by the Cleveland king himself, Machine Gun Kelly. The surprise appearance was more than welcome as MGK sauntered onto stage in tattered pants; he also had a lit joint in his mouth. Although he was only on stage for one song, it was certainly the highlight of the night.
