Drop it Like It's Hot: Barbara Byrd-Bennet's Name To Be Removed From Former CMSD Training Center

Barbara Byrd-Bennett's name will be removed from a former Cleveland Metropolitan School District training facility in Bratenahl.

The Cleveland school board voted to get rid of the former superintendent's name Tuesday night.

Byrd-Bennett, who left Cleveland in 2006, was most recently CEO of the Chicago Public Schools. She is likely to spend seven-and-a-half years in prison after pleading guilty to accepting bribes in exchange for directing huge contracts to a former employer.

The Bratenahl training facility, which may be used in the future as an administrative office, is currently not in use by CMSD. And without benefactors clamoring for naming rights, it will simply be called the Bratenahl Center.
