Now that Halloween is back on the shelf for another 12 months, everybody's got those pumpkins lying around, rotting away on the porch. What are you supposed to do with them? You spent some hard earned change on that sucker, so why just throw it away, or watch your investment collapse into mush? You could grind it up in a pie, for instance. Of course, if you're an a-hole from Elyria, you can use it as a handy domestic abuse accoutrement.

21-year-old Amber Moore came home from picking up her kids Wednesday to find boyfriend 33-year-old Jason Lovejoy drunk, according to the Chronicle-Telegram. But the romance was a bad one. When he saw Moore coming up, an agitated Lovejoy came out on the porch, pouring reproach in her direction. It got worse.

Moore said Lovejoy then lit a cigarette and put it out on the left side of her face, threw a lighter that hit the right side of her chest and threw a seven-pound pumpkin that also hit her in the chest. He went inside their home and wouldn’t let her in, she told police. Moore had a red mark on her face and some bruising on her chest, according to the report. She was later taken to EMH Medical Center in Elyria by police Officer Ben Currier.
