Love appears on one of six variant covers, in a very typical setting (playing basketball naked in the middle of a vast desert). You can pick up a copy, with even more photos of nude athletes, on July 10.
In a feature article by Pablo S. Torre, Love opens up about his fitness routine, NBA career, and his recovery process after an injury in the early rounds of the playoffs.
In April, Love suffered a dislocated shoulder during a tangle with the Boston Celtics' Kelly Olynyk, and was sidelined for months. While he initially claimed Olynyk caused the injury intentionally, Love now says they've made up and there are no hard feelings.
Love also talks about his fitness history and his childhood, when he didn't exactly have the physique he's showing off now. "My mom was a great cook; I was very spoiled when I was young," said Love in the ESPN article. "Her fettuccine alfredo? Yeah, you eat that on a regular basis and you're not gonna be in the Body Issue."
Love, now 26, is in considerably better shape, and plans to stay that way. He expects to keep playing basketball until he's 40.
"I 100 percent think that my best basketball is ahead of me," Love said.
