Everyone across the city was a little surprised when word came down that Cleveland school’s top man Eugene Sanders was packing his bags and leaving the struggling district mid-school year. The initial reports suggested Sanders had his eye on the top job at his alma mater, Bowling Green State University. Turns out Sanders didn’t make the short list for that post, but he’s doing okay, don’t worry: according to the Plain Dealer, Sanders has landed a juicy spot guest lecturing in Hawaii.
The paper reports Sanders is now at the University of Hawaii at Maui working with education students on “school reform and organizational change.” No word whether or not his lectures press the importance of actually sticking around for the implementation of school reform and organizational change. We’re guessing no.
