We're just over a month out from the shooting in Newtown, Conn., and gun violence is maintaining a strong hold on the nation. Cleveland is no different.

Slate has partnered with @GunDeaths to provide information on gun deaths in the U.S. - with the obvious caveat that accuracy isn't 100 percent guaranteed.

Since Dec. 14, five people have died from gun wounds in Cleveland:

- Deangelo Chandler
- Dontel Sheeley Sr.
- Nathan Brown
- Brian Wilson
- 54-year-old man whose name has not yet been released

And 917 people have died from gun wounds across the country.

This morning, a 17-year-old boy was shot on Cleveland's east side. His condition is unknown at this time, according to WEWS.
