Spins actually looks super nice.
Joe Jurevicius, the Lake Catholic product and former Browns wide receiver, is featured in
the January issue of
Cleveland Magazine for his new(ish), and wholly unexpected, foray in the business world. He's the owner and operator of local laundromats.
Jurevicius opened a Spins laundromat —
Quick N Fresh! —
on Lorain Avenue just west of W. 65th in 2013 and followed it up with two more.
"To build on his growing dynasty," says
Cleveland Magazine, "he's brought WashClub to Cleveland. The smartphone app, which started in New York, is like Uber for your underwear. Users order home pickup for laundry and dry-cleaning, and contractors such as Jurevicius will clean it and drop it back off."
Jurevicius was all business during
a brief interview with the magazine, saying he hated the word "entrepreneur" and was really just concerned about making enough money to buy a new car every five years and being able to tend to his Iowa farm.
On the subject of the Cleveland Browns, he was equally candid. "As long as we have distractions," Jurevicius said, "the Cleveland Browns will never be any good."
When Jurevicius was featured in
Scout magazine last month
hunting coyotes in Nebraska, that seemed like par for the course for the former Brown. But operating laundromats?
"The commitment that Joe exhibited to reach the top of the NFL is shown through his dedication to making Spins Laundromat the best Laundromat in Cleveland," says the Spins website.
Why the hell not.
