When it comes to sneakers the NBA might be king but that doesn't mean that other sports don't and can't get into the game every now and then. Which brings us to Francisco Lindor, who left Under Armour for New Balance last year, and his first major release with his new brand is this week.

Lindor was a Rawlings’ Gold Glove winner last year, awarded to the best fielder at each position in MLB. So New Balance decided to team up with Rawlings and Pepsi (another sponsor of Lindor’s) and local Ohio City sneaker and apparel shop Xhibition to release a special pack this Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. The launch is for his brand new sneaker, which will have two different colorways —  a light and a dark pair of New Balance 574s. Each colorway will have some semblance to the Indians’ blue and red team colors. The sneakers feature Lindor’s number ‘12’ on the back along with the abbreviation ‘BC’ for ‘Be Consistent.’ Those sneakers will be on sale to the general public on Xhibition’s website starting at midnight on June 9th.

The actual event, which will be attended by Lindor himself, will feature an auction of a special pack that features a custom pair of the sneakers along with a custom Rawlings glove with metallic gold trim, custom 24 Karat gold pins, a Lindor jersey pad made from deconstructed game worn jerseys, and a retro Pepsi glass bottle. The set will be housed in a custom wooden home plate case. The bidding will start at $2,500 and all proceeds will benefit the charity of Lindor’s choice, the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Cleveland. The event is open to the public.
