'Get Motivated' Seminar Causes Traffic Jams, Irks Downtown Workers

Today's shady "Get Motivated" seminar at Quicken Loans Arena has drawn the ire of those who work downtown every day. It seems Cleveland's usually calm rush hour can't handle an extra 20,000 motivation-wanting souls clogging downtown streets as they arrive late to hear Bill Cosby and others tell them how to get their lives together.

One sample Facebook comment: "If you were truly motivated, you'd have something better to do than fuck up my morning drive in to work." Also: "Big shout out to the city of Cleveland for punishing those who actually come downtown more than once per year." And: "It's embarrassing that local news has to have segments on "where to park" if people are going to go downtown."

The seminar began at 8 a.m., but with traffic still backed up on I-77 and I-71 well after 9 a.m., it doesn't seem many attending the "Get Motivated" event were motivated to get there on time. Perhaps that should be step one.

So yeah, this beautiful Wednesday morning is off to a great start. The love, understanding, and compassion of this great city is on full display.

(Head's up: The seminar lets out at 4:45, so the afternoon rush hour should be just as much as a clusterfuck as the morning version. Recommendation: Just go to happy hour instead, then the Tribe game.)
