Bestowing ever more bad news on the saga of John Crawford III, the man shot to death in a Beavercreek, Ohio, Walmart this summer, authorities announced this morning that his girlfriend died in a high-speed car crash yesterday.
Tasha Thomas, 26, was the passenger in a car traveling 90 to 100 mph, which crashed into a pole and overturned on Jan. 1. 30-year-old Frederick Bailey of Dayton also died in a crash on North Broadway Street in Dayton yesterday.

Thomas was in the Walmart with Crawford when he was shot in August. They were buying supplies for s'mores when he took a phone call from the mother of his son and walked away while holding a BB gun that was being sold by the store. After Crawford was shot, Thomas
endured more than hour of intense interrogations by a detective.
“We’re investigating a serious incident. You lied to me and you may be on your way to jail,” Detective Rodney Curd told Thomas before anyone knew that Crawford had ultimately died of his wounds.
