The Brewers Association just released its annual listing of the top 50 craft and overall brewing companies in the U.S. based on 2012 beer sales volume. Cleveland's Great Lakes Brewing Co. landed on both lists.
In the category of Top 50 U.S. Craft Brewing Companies, Great Lakes Brewing came in at #19.
In the Top 50 Overall U.S. Brewing Companies, Great Lakes Brewing came in at #28.
These results prove two things: One is that craft beer continues to make a bigger dent in the overall beer industry, and two, Great Lakes Brewing is awesome.
“In 2012, craft surpassed six percent of the total U.S. beer market, with volume and dollar sales reaching record levels,” said Paul Gatza, director, Brewers Association. “Increasingly, beer lovers are turning to craft brewed beer from small and independent producers to satisfy their thirst for bold, innovative and flavor-forward beers.”
