The past weekend was a big one for Mentor. No, I am not talking about the President’s visit. The new Melt Bar and Grilled has opened. The long-awaited opening marks the fourth location for this Cleveland-area favorite, which serves award-winning gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches.
Located in the Points East Plaza at the corner of Route 306 and Mentor Ave., this is the largest Melt to date. It features design elements from the Independence location, with over 140 seats in the dining room and an outdoor patio that can seat up to 50.
Another bright spot for Mentor is that Melt will be employing around 85 employees.
Mentor’s tag line is “The city of choice,” and owner Matt Fish could not agree more: “The entire Melt family is extremely excited to open our doors in Mentor,” he says. “This location has been a long time coming and we know the people of Mentor and the surrounding areas have been waiting patiently. Our goal is to offer them awesome food and stellar service in a warm, unique environment, and we hope it will all be worth the wait. We’re looking forward to the newest Melt location in Mentor becoming another neighborhood favorite.”
The rite of passage in welcoming a Melt to your neighborhood is to beat the Melt Challenge. If you can conquer this beast of a sandwich with13 different cheeses, 3 slices of grilled bread, and a pile of hand-cut fries and slaw, then you will confidently be able to say, “Welcome to my town.”
