Here's Where All of the Medical Marijuana Dispensaries Are Going To Be in Cleveland

Cuyahoga County is allowed five medical marijuana dispensaries, and the Board of Pharmacy announced today that they will be located in Cleveland, Lakewood and Garfield Heights.

According to Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program, the Ohio Board of Pharmacy can provide licenses to up to 60 medical marijuana dispensary applicants statewide, pending the proposed dispensary is located at least 500 feet from a school, church, public library, playground, public park or community addiction services facility.

Passed in September 2016, the medical marijuana bill is expected to go into effect sometime around September 2018 pending the establishment of guidelines for processing, testing and dispensing.

Not all medical conditions are eligible for medical marijuana, as Ohio law only offers licenses for those professionally diagnosed with the following:

• AIDS
  
• Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis
  
• Alzheimer’s disease
  
• Cancer
  
• Chronic traumatic encephalopathy
  
• Crohn’s disease
  
• Epilepsy or another seizure disorder
  
• Fibromyalgia
  
• Glaucoma
  
• Hepatitis C
  
• Inflammatory bowel disease
  
• Multiple sclerosis
  
• Pain that is either chronic and severe or intractable
  
• Parkinson’s disease
  
• Positive status for HIV
  
• Post-traumatic stress disorder
  
• Sickle cell anemia
  
• Spinal cord disease or injury
  
• Tourette’s syndrome
  
• Traumatic brain injury
  
• Ulcerative colitis
  

The medical marijuana dispensaries for Cuyahoga County will have two Cleveland locations (3865 Lakeside Avenue and 1222-1224 Prospect Avenue East), two Lakewood locations (11818 Madison Avenue and 18607-18609 Detroit) and a location in Garfield Heights (10500 Antenucci Blvd. Suite 200).
