With the holidays upon us, the artists and art professionals of Northeast Ohio aren’t wasting any time.
Join the festivities, and start your weekend with December’s “First Friday” Walk All Over Waterloo in Collinwood’s historic Waterloo Arts District
tonight (though some events run through Sunday).
Waterloo Arts hosts their Annual Members’ Holiday Sale, an annual pop-up holiday shop featuring art and handmade gifts by members of Waterloo Arts. Down the street, the Maria Neil Art Project’s
inaugural Holiday Sale kicks off with an opening reception Friday evening – featuring many of the participating artists. Both events are free and open to the public from 5 to 9 p.m. Additional hours Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Friday also marks the grand opening of Waterloo’s newest gallery, Article Gallery. Located at the west end of Waterloo Road, the gallery’s first show, Perspective & Punk, features work by local artists Larry Fielder and Guerin Wolf. The reception runs from 7 to 10 p.m.
On the opposite end of Waterloo, Gallery One Sixty
debuts its latest exhibition, Mixed Bag, a two-person show by Cleveland-based, mixed media artists Melinda Placko and Justin Brennan. Brennan is coming off a successful two-person exhibition, It Figures, with fellow abstract artist Deb Lawrence at the Cleveland West Art League at 78th Street Studios. Friday’s reception takes place from 6 to 10 p.m.
Be sure to wander around to see everything going on throughout the neighborhood. All events are free and open to the public.
