Saucy Brew Works opened Thursday night at the Quicken Loans Arena, with a 1,500 square-foot beverage-only concession area in what the Q is calling the main concourse's "South Neighborhood."
It's the first new "fan-gathering" concession area in the renovated Q's new neighborhood concept. (Increasing areas where fans could gather was one of the goals of the Q's controversial renovation, authorized in 2017.)
In March, two new food areas will join Saucy there: one by Jonathon Sawyer, of Greenhouse Tavern; and one by Karen Small, of the Flying Fig. This neighborhood area will be open to fans before and during games and events.
Saucy is of course deeply acquainted with fake neighborhoods, having opened in Hingetown in 2017. The Q location will share the "sports bar" atmosphere of its mothership, with 12 HD TVs and 16 taps featuring permanent and rotating drafts. There's also a huge, 50-foot wooden bar and views of Progressive Field (see above).
Cavs and Saucy Brew Works executives joined for a ceremonial toast at the new location before the Cavs/Suns tipoff Thursday evening.
“We are thrilled to have one of Cleveland and Ohio’s top craft brewers [sic] in Saucy Brew Works to help anchor the South Neighborhood space and experience," said Cavs CEO Len Komoroski.
