Cleveland's newest iconic public space now has its very own website, in case you missed the news over the weekend. Check clevelandpublicsquare.com for basic info and updates on daily events.

At this point, a steady flow of live music and yoga comprise the weekday happenings on the Square, with an occasional spurt of civic dialogue to spice things up. Saturday morning, Cleveland Public Library Director Felton Thomas will lead a "Walk and Talk" on Public Square, where discussion will focus on the transformation of downtown and its effect on Cleveland's neighborhoods. 

The point is, you can now readily access all the available options on Public Square online. And though the biggest Public Square story these days revolves around bus traffic — will buses be allowed back on Superior Avenue's designated bus lane? — it's also worth noting that keeping the Square dynamically programmed has long been a goal of the Group Plan Commission, and they appear to be taking that goal seriously.  

The best early news about the Square, though, is that regardless of the official programming, the ongoing unofficial programming — kids of all stripes splashing in the fountain, lunchers reading on benches, the happy-hour crowd soaking up sun at Rebol over perspiring pints — signals that Public Square is living up to its name.
