In the 216, an artisan shop showcasing the work of dozens of local doers and makers, has opened up a storefront in Coventry Village.
The store quietly launched on Friday afternoon, occupying the old Phoenix Coffee Company space at 1854 Coventry Road.
"We offer the work of 42 local artists," Steven Goe, husband of store owner Jenny Goe says. "Everything's made right here in the state of Ohio." Folks can find T-shirts, jewelry, glassware, soaps, and boatloads more.
The idea for In the 216's first brick-and-mortar outlet was born over the summer when Jenny began selling her jewelry at Coventry's free outdoor summer concert series. Coventry Village's Angie Hetrick showed Jenny the retail space, and that was it, Steven said.
The store's current hours are Monday - Wednesday, 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 12 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Shoppers can expect a grand opening sometime this spring.
