Lorain Historical Society Carnegie Center to Host Fundraising Event for Upcoming FireFish Festival

Last year’s FireFish Arts aimed to “enhance economic and civic revitalization in downtown Lorain and all of Lorain County through visionary arts events, pioneering arts programming, youth education and workforce development initiatives.”

The festival will return this year in September, and the Lorain Historical Society and the FireFish Festival have teamed up to host ArtSong, a fundraising event offering a “one-of-a-kind multi-sensual experience” featuring music by Grammy Award-winning pianist Angelin Chang and video projections by visual artist Kevin Jackson.

The event takes place at 7 p.m. on May 4 at the Lorain Historical Society Carnegie Center at 329 West 10th St. in Lorain. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be served before the concert begins. Attendees can explore the recently renovated Carnegie Center, and the second floor will be reshaped into a musical art installation created by Chang and Jackson.

“We are delighted to bring attention to the FireFish Festival by hosting the Spring event here at the newly-restored Carnegie Center,” says the Lorain Historical Society's Barb Piscopo in a press release. “FireFish is one of many of our community partners who are working together to help recreate a vibrant City for the residents of Lorain.”

“Last year’s FireFish Festival provided a glimpse of what is possible in the reimagining of downtown Lorain as a dynamic, artistic mecca,” adds FireFish Festival executive director James Levin. “We hope this highly acclaimed, unforgettable one-of-a-kind annual arts festival will continue to attract thousands of new visitors to this Northeastern Ohio hidden gem on the water.”
