Robert Doss made sure he was no longer welcomed as a son of America when he shot his ex-girlfriend in the head last year. She had wanted to break up with him; he got a gun and shot her. She's still alive and recovering, though she is blind and deaf on one side of her face. He, as you may guess, is facing prison time.

This week, the 45-year-old Doss pleaded guilty to attempted murder (and his mom pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice for covering for him), which gave Lakewood Patch reason to post what we assume was Doss' mugshot/booking photo (incidentally, it appears Lakewood cops take mugshot photos in the back hallway where they take the garbage out). Yes, that is a Steelers shirt.

Doss will be sentenced August 25 and is facing three to 13 years.

Best wishes to the victim in her recovery.
