- No big deal. Just crash landed a plane in a densely wooded area.
Good morning, Cleveland. Here's some stuff to read while you ponder how heavily you'd crying and hyperventilating if you crashed in a plane.
— A manly 72-year-old man was flying his small plane to a gathering on Father's Day. Then he crashed. 911 calls poured in from those in the area that saw the plane go down. Then the 911 dispatcher got a call from the pilot himself. According to the Canton Repository, the phone call went like this: "'Do you need medical help, sir?' a 911 dispatcher asked 72-year-old Wayne Noall after Noall called for help from the ground following his crash landing in a wooded area. 'No. I’m fine,”'Noall said. 'A bruised ego.'" Badass, that Wayne. (Canton Repository)
— Turns out a good number of Ohio Justices are on Facebook. The Dispatch breaks down who has one, for what purposes, and how many fans and friends they have. Poor, Justice Robert R. Cupp. Only 40. Chief Justice Erin Brown totally clowns on Cupp and tells him about his 4000+ friends. Then he snaps his ass with a towel and gives him a robe wedgie. (Columbus Dispatch)
— The Davis-Besse nuclear plant has been shut down since February, ever since cracks were discovered in the reactor's lid. FirstEnergy, who runs the plant, initially hoped to run the reactor as-is until 2014, but eventually backed down and committed to installing a new lid in 2011. They just care about your safety that much. (Cleveland.com)
— A portrait of Carl B. Stokes was unveiled at the federal court building yesterday in front of a packed room full of local politicians, congressmen, and power-broking business figures. Quite a memorable and stirring scene honoring the first black mayor of a major American city. In other news, former mayor Mike White plans on having his portrait down by the caricaturist at the zoo figuring he/she will be best suited to render his darling alpacas realistically. (NewsNet5)
